BIOSIS produces vital databases and services for life sciences research, including Biological Abstracts, BIOSIS Previews and Zoological Record.
The board of trustees of the foundation (non-profit status 503-c) decided to pursue the sale of BIOSIS and we were engaged as financial advisor.
We worked management and co-advisor knowledge solutions to develop acquisition valuation analysis and negotiate the terms of an all-cash transaction.
BIOSIS entered into a preliminary agreement with Thomson Scientific’s Institute for Scientific Information for the sale of the assets and business of Biological Abstracts and its U.K. subsidiary.
We assisted the BIOSIS board of trustees through closing on the
transaction.
