Nationwide Formalwear traded as Small's and is now part of After Hours owned by May's Department Stores. At the time we represented the family that owned Nationwide, the company operated 73 retail stores and was the dominant provider of formalwear in the Northeast U.S.
The family was interested in being a consolidator and pursued that strategy before being sold to Mitchell's which had similar market presence in the Southeast U.S. We conducted an auction sale process and assisted in the negotiations of the transaction with the private equity fund that controlled the acquirer.
